Young Mums Program
At some time in our lives, we have all needed, or will need a little support; and parenting can be particularly challenging. We believe in your potential as a young mum, and that it’s totally possible for you to make a difference in your own life, as well as in the life of your child.
In our safe and supportive environment, you’ll have fun, build friendships and discover ways to create success in your life. Our experienced program coordinator will take you through creative activities, open conversations, social opportunities, and a time of personal reflection where you’ll learn about a range of topics including wellbeing, motherhood, parenting skills, life skills and personal growth.
Topics we cover include:
Care for babies and children
Finding support networks
Making healthy choices
Personal growth and development
We celebrate your graduation, on completion of the course. Young mums then continue to receive ongoing support through our facilitated playgroup, and follow-up contact.
"Outcomes I got out of the Young Mum program: I got to work on myself and my wellbeing. I made a goal to leave the program with what I wanted to do for a career and I achieved that goal with the help of other young mums, the teachers and the team. I got to further my education will be graduating soon.
My son also started daycare in the same centre. Leaving him him for so many hours a day was a big step for me, but I had reassurance from the team that he'll be well looked after. And he was."
